In 2016, Morgan Hoogvelt was working as a talent acquisition director for an international manufacturing company. The business was using a courier service to deliver items to customers, but after some mishaps, they began looking for a new solution. One day, an HR colleague asked him if he could find somebody who’d be available to work just for an hour on Wednesdays.
“I told her we weren’t going to find anyone who could do that,” Morgan says. “No one’s going to sit around and wait and then not get paid for the full day.”

Needing a better, more cost-effective way to pay drivers
When Gohfr started, Morgan used a payroll service that got the job done but carried a hefty price tag.
“Our payroll was around a thousand dollars a week,” Morgan says. “Their fees were almost half of that just to run payroll. I was like, ‘This is unsustainable. This can’t work.’”
